...a place to experience God’s grace

Music

WRPC Music Director Julie Vogel, center, with Marshall Thomason and his wife, Roberta.  Marshall composed an anthem "What Wondrous Love Is This?" in honor of Julie's 25th anniversary with the church.

Ah, sweet music.  It’s something we especially love at Waverly Road Presbyterian Church.  We believe it adds depth and meaning to worship.  From choirs for all ages, to handbells, to special instruments, there’s always singing, ringing and tingling with us.

Here’s a list of some of the ways we incorporate music into our worship: adult choir, children’s choir, adult handbell choir, children’s handbell choir, organ, piano, flautist, anthems.

Chancel Choirorgan pipes

The WRPC Chancel Choir is a choir of adults  dedicated to high technical and artistic   performance standards of sacred choral literature from the Christian religion. This choir normally sings for the 11a.m. worship service each Sunday. They also sing for other services observing major Christian feasts and fasts (such as General Communion, Christmas Eve, and Good Friday) and occasional concerts.

The quantity of music performed is fairly extensive and some reading skills and choral experience is helpful though not completely necessary if one has excellent tonal memory. Solo voices are not required, but a well-focused voice that blends with its section and consistency in rehearsal attendance are extremely important.

If you are interested in singing with this choir, please contact Julie Vogel, Director of Music.
