Waverly Road Presbyterian Church

...a place to experience God’s grace

Visitors

We welcome the opportunity to worship with you.  Here's some information about Waverly Road Presbyterian Church visitors may find useful.

What should I know about the worship services? Sunday School starts at 9:45 a.m. with classes for all ages, from age 2 through adult.  There is also a nursery provided for Sunday School and the worship service, which is from 11 a.m. till noon.

Is informal dress OK? Come to worship in whatever you're comfortable wearing.  Our members' attire is a mix--young people often wear jeans; others tend to favor a little dressier clothes. Slacks and open collar shirts are common for men.

Is the service designed for families with young children? We try to make the worship service meaningful to people of all ages, including children!  We have a "children's sermon" fairly early in the service. Children are invited to go to the front of the auditorium and sit on the steps with an adult leader for a brief lesson just for them.  Following that, younger children have the option of going to nursery or staying with adults for the remainder of the service.

What is the music like? We are blessed with a wealth of talent at Waverly Road.  We have a full choir, several handbell choirs and ocassional instrument ensembles.  We use a mix of traditional and more modern music and welcome music lovers to our church.

Where do I park and enter the building for worship?  We've reserved on-street parking directly in front of the church for our visitors.  From there, you go directly into the main entrance with the worship service immediately on the right (doors to Sunday School classes are on the left).

Is the church handicapped accessible? There are no steps into the church at the main entrance.  We also have an elevator inside the church for easy access to the Fellowship Hall (downstairs).

What is available for my children? We have many opportunities for children, including Sunday School classes and youth groups for various ages (kindergarten through grade 5; middle school; senior high).  Children may also participate in special activities, such as Vacation Bible School, Commissioning Class, choir and handbells.
